Action Sequence

This picture is of our action sequence for our bomb sequence. This is showing Alice going to look for the bomb but exploring the college. We used a wide range of angles while shooting this. When we were shooting this Bea was recording Alice while me and Luke were directing. Before we went to shoot Bea made a story board with all the different camera shots while i had to think of a location.

Horror stills task

This is our horror stills task. This is the story board we has to create using different shot types for our horror sequence. Altogether we used 10 different shot types to create our video along with using the story board which were:
1.Establishing shot.
2.Close up
3.Extreme close up.
4.Mid shot
5.Long shot
6.Canted shot
7.Point of view
8.Over the shoulder
9.High angle
10.Low angle.
To make the video we used final cut which was our second time using the software and we also used a lot of different effects when creating the video. Me and Luke were the actors while Bea and Alice were filming and directing. As a group i think that we worked very well together because this was our very first group task and we were the first ones to start and also first ones to finish because we just got on straight away without any problems.

Final video

My final video has now come together. To create it as one video we had to make a new sequence and name it 'Master' and then drag each individual sequence to the master one. I also added my ident at the beginning of the master so when the whole film plays everybody would know that I've done all the editing and that it's also mine. In the master i thought that my film was a little boring and plain so i decided to add music at the start just before i start talking in mine. I also added music in Alice's action sequence when she's on the way to find the bomb. This made my film look much better because instead of having it boring and having nothing playing and it just being plain I've got music playing and the music sounds quite adventurous as well which matches the scene. Also the same music is used for my end credits. This way using the same music people will be able to recognize that its mine. As you can see in the image I've added in effects to make it look like the bomb set fire to the college and i also added in sound. While editing we had to be careful and make sure that we didn't have any black spaces between changes in the video. Making the final video was probably one of the difficult things because we're still learning how to use final and trying to still get used to it and the editing skills with it.

Shapes

With our shapes we had to go onto Photoshop and create a little collage of shapes to go with our logo/ident. I found this quite hard because i didn't have any idea what shape what would go with the idea of my logo but in the end i finally figured something out. When we were trying out different shapes we had to add effects to them to make sure that they weren't plain and boring which was pretty fun and it was also another chance for us to explore photoshop more.

Brushes

These are the different brush strokes that i got off the internet. Once i used the right ones i then used them to create and image. From all the different brushes i could finally pick one for my logo. When we were getting our brushes we had to go onto the internet on brushes websites and the ones i used was brushking.com. Once we found the brushes we wanted we had to download them and then put them onto photoshop to create a collage of brushes.

Finding the bomb

Finding the bomb was our last scene for our bomb sequence. In this task we had to change the actors and this time it was Bea and Alice who were acting. In this scene we had Bea and Alice being agents and Alice having to find the bomb and disarm it. There were three different locations, the control room, corridor and outside. In this scene the props we used were the computers, a phone and the bomb. While Alice and Bea were acting for the first time it was mine and Luke's turn to do the filming and also direct. There was 17 shots in the fining the bomb task. We used shot types such as; long shot, normal shot, mid shot, close up and point of view. To help us along the way and make sure that we're not getting it wrong Bea made us story boards and also mud maps.

The Meeting

The meeting was our second task in our bomb sequence. In this little scene it was between me and Luke again. We were meeting about blowing up the college and also had me giving him the bomb to do so. This took place in one of he classrooms in G Block. In this scene we used quite a few props which were a laptop, bomb, chair and desk. In this part of the film has 12 different shots, as well as different shot types; match on action shot, medium close up, long shot, over the shoulder and close up. During this lesson we learnt and used the 180 degree rule. The rule is that when you're filming two people you should always film on the same side for each person e.g. Bea was filming the camera angle for me on the right and then for Luke it would be the left.

Phone Call

The phone call task was the beginning of our bomb sequence. It included us doing 18 different shot. As a group we had to come up with 3 different locations to shoot for this task. Our first location was in C block. We chose to shoot our first one here because it was the only location in the college which was quiet and had no noise around. Our second location was outside on the back field. We decided to shoot it outside because we didn't want all out shots to be inside and the location was quiet nice. Our last location was in the corridor when we had to film Luke waking down going to open the door for our next task which was the meeting. We used shot types such as establishing shot, medium shot, close up, extreme close up and long shots. This little part of this scene showed a phone call between me and Luke who were planning on putting a bomb in the college.

Bomb sequence

In lesson we've been working on our bomb sequences. We had to work in groups of four and had to go out and make a quick video on a phone call. We used big cutter boards to help us and they had instructions on what we had to. The first couple of shots where pretty simple and then we had to do two different locations of me talking and then Luke. When we shot my part it was in C block and when we shot Luke's on the back field. It was also quite interesting to do the editing as well because we were doing new things on photoshop, we learnt how to cut peoples heads of and add blood to the shot.
